This Week in Financial Literacy…

Roundtable member companies are offering and sponsoring a wide array of financial literacy courses and programs throughout the month of April. Here are some interesting upcoming events:

April 18-22, 2011: The Allstate Foundation and Dress for Success: My Dollar, My Life Pledge Campaign- My Dollar, My Life invites the public to make a personal pledge to improve their own finances in 2011. For example, an individual might pledge to open a college savings account for their children, cut back on spending in a certain area, increase their 401k contribution, or other meaningful goals. People can submit their first name, city and personal pledge through the website, and the pledges will scroll after submission. Make your pledge by visiting

April 19, 2011: RBS Americas (Citizens Financial Group) How to Start and Grow a Small Business Workshop-New Hampshire- Citizens is underwriting SCORE’s small business seminar. This workshop will examine the various elements of staring a business including developing business plan, understanding cash flow and hiring the right people. In addition to sponsoring the workshop, a Citizens Bank business banking officer will provide information to the participants about how to prepare for meeting with financial institutions to explore financing options.

April 21, 2011: The Hartford’s “JA in a Day” at West Middle Elementary School from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Hartford and JuniorAchievement of Southwest New England will engage 800 students (K-8) at West Middle Elementary School to execute a “JA in a Day” program with 65 of The Hartford’s Team Hart volunteers.
